i started out screen printing band shirts with mod podge blocked-out screens and photoshopped fake punk posters as a teen. in high school, i spent most of my free time in the printing lab where my teacher encouraged me to go to school for design. i enrolled in college and took a wide variety of courses formal art, photography, and design. while getting a degree, i kept experimenting with photography through old plastic cameras, traditional printing methods, and any discipline of design i could learn.
professionally i worked in small agencies and freelanced focusing on marketing, visual design, design strategy, and web design for various markets. for a period of time i was regularly involved with design community based organizations, working with outreach and event organization for professionals. outside of work, i created stickers, pins, and risograph prints from my own ideas. over the course of my career i focused in on more product based work, being involved in the entire product strategy and leading the user experience process. currently i focus on user experience design, product design, and design systems at a company that offers credited continuing education courses to professionals and students.
